Acne Scar Treatment in Lone Tree

Did you know that the best acne scar treatment is right here in Lone Tree?

While our Microneedling treatment is mostly popular at DejaVu Med Spa for its amazing anti-aging benefits, we also perform this treatment on a variety of clients to treat a host of other skin concerns, too, such as acne scars!

You may be surprised to learn that while some may perceive Microneedling as an aggressive way to treat intense skincare problems, the truth is that anyone could benefit from a treatment (or five!).

But what is microneedling, and does it work?

What is Microneedling?

DejaVu Med Spa offers Microneedling in Lone Tree to our clients who are looking for treatment of:

  • Scars (from acne, past surgery, chicken pox, and more)
  • Fine Lines & Wrinkles (and other signs of aging)
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Pore Size & Texture
  • Sun Damage
  • Stretch Marks
  • And more

Microneedling is considered a medical facial because of how we perform the treatment.

How does Microneedling work?

Microneedling is a treatment that uses tiny needles to prick the skin. When the skin is punctured, this sends your body into “repair mode” to generate new collagen and skin tissue.

Additionally, when your pores are open, it allows a much easier channel for your skin to soak up all the refreshing ingredients that make up our post-treatment products. (Just ask Jennifer Aniston!)

This leads to smoother skin with better tone and firmness; it can reduce the appearance of wrinkles and lift minor sagging.

It’s hard to think of who wouldn’t feel refreshed after a microneedling session.

Where can I get Microneedling?

If you’re looking for an acne scar treatment in Lone Tree, DejaVu Med Spa has you covered! We perform Microneedling on a weekly basis and are certified to perform this procedure at our Lone Tree Med Spa off Rosemont Avenue.

Microneedling is mostly used on the face, including the forehead, cheeks, nose, under the eye, and jawline.

However, Microneedling can also be used on the neck, décolletage, and/or hands to reduce the appearance of lines or wrinkles.

When should I get Microneedling?

Before you get Microneedling done, you should first schedule a consultation with our team to determine your exact skin concerns and treatment priorities.

We’ll also discuss your past skincare efforts, your current regimen and lifestyle, and the amount of downtime you’ll have available after treatment to help make sure your time with us is effective. We’ll then assess your acne scars and other skin concerns to understand how best to treat you.

Then, depending on your specific goals, we will recommend a series of anywhere from 2 to 10 treatments over a period of multiple months to help you achieve the long-term results you want.

For example, someone using microneedling to treat a surgical scar may need much more time and attention on Microneedling than someone who is unhappy with their skin’s overall texture or signs of aging.

The aggressiveness of the treatment, and the amount of time in between treatments, may also vary based on your areas of concern. For larger areas such as stretch marks, your DejaVu Med Spa expert may recommend a longer amount of time before your next treatment to allow your skin adequate time to perform its natural processes.

Will Microneedling work for me?

Microneedling is a viable solution for just about any skin type. This versatile treatment harnesses the power of your skin to help heal itself in places of scarring and other spots or wrinkles.

So is there anyone that can’t get this acne scar treatment in Lone Tree?

While Microneedling is great for acne scars, if you’re struggling with active acne, you may want to consider other treatments at Deja Vu MedSpa, including acne peels or Forever Clear BBL™ for active acne. Anyone with active acne or cold sores should definitely avoid Microneedling.

Is Microneedling painful?

Microneedling may sound intimidating. After all, we’ve met quite a few people in our line of work who aren’t the biggest fans of needles.

Fortunately, many of our clients have told us that their treatment experience was relatively painless.

This is thanks, in large part, to our use of topical anesthetics. We allow this numbing cream to set for at least 20 minutes and confirm that our client is unable to feel any pain on the face before beginning treatment.

Afterwards, any pain from the Microneedling treatment subsides relatively quickly. Your skin may have an appearance and sensitivity similar to a sunburn, especially in areas where the skin is thinner (such as the skin underneath your eyes). Our clients tell us that this effect doesn’t last more than 24 hours.

Does microneedling work for men?

Microneedling isn’t just for women. Men can, and DO, get amazing acne scar treatments from us, too!

Men are sometimes even more prone to acne scars and rough skin texture, making them perfect candidates for Microneedling.

Bring along your brother, boyfriend, husband, or BFF to your next DejaVu visit and we’ll review all the different treatments that may work best for his overall skincare concerns.

All the celebrities are getting it. Your friends are getting it. The “hype” for Microneedling is real. But does it work?

Absolutely! We have amazing before and after photos we can share with you during your free, one-hour consultation at DejaVu Med Spa.

There are tons of treatment options to get you the skin you’ve been dreaming of, most of which we can perform in combination. And if we don’t believe Microneedling will work for your exact needs, we’ll help you explore other options and give you the choice on how to proceed.

What to do before getting your acne scar treatment

You want maximized results. We want that for you, too!

To help set up your skin for success, there is one important thing to keep in mind before your treatment.

For 3 to 5 days before your acne scar treatment in Lone Tree, be sure to completely stop using any Retin A, Retinols, Vitamin A creams, or any other topical medications.

That does not mean you should stop wearing sunscreen, though. This is where reading your label will come in handy. Some moisturizers contain both sunscreen and the products listed above. Make sure to check those ingredients!

Microneedling aftercare tips

After an acne scar treatment, you should help make sure your results are effective and long lasting by giving your skin the best possible chance to heal and recover.

You can achieve this by:

  • Keeping your skin hydrated
  • Not wearing sunscreen or makeup for 12 hours afterward
  • Using only gentle cleansers before bed to remove serum
  • Skipping any skincare products that are considered “active” skincare (such as Vitamin A or C)
  • Not going swimming for at least 24 hours afterwards
  • Avoiding alcohol-based toners for 10 to 14 days afterwards

Additionally, this article hits the nail on the head when it comes to sweat.

You should avoid going to the gym or sauna for at least 24 hours after your acne scar treatment. Sweat causes inflammation, and being in the sun or heat can cause even further irritation of your skin.

Overall, the staff DejaVu will be sure to go over all of this information and more in person with you, and answer any questions you have about your acne scar treatment or results.

Should I get Microneedling done more than once?

Any amount of Microneedling will refresh your skin and help you jump start your skincare improvement.

The best Microneedling regimen, however, involves multiple treatments over the span of a few months.

As we all know, aging is inevitable. However, acne scars don’t have to be! We can curb the appearance of the aging process with a series of Microneedling treatments over time.
